Orders
Placing an order is an offer to buy. The order is accepted when we send a confirmation email, and that is the point a contract exists between us.
Prices are as shown at checkout in US dollars. Texas sales tax is applied where required. We may correct a price that is obviously wrong. If that happens before we ship, we will contact you and give you the choice of paying the corrected price or canceling for a full refund.
We may decline or cancel an order and refund it in full. That is rare and normally means we cannot make the item to the standard we want.
Lead times
Machined faceplates are produced in small batches and are in stock when listed. Laser-engraved faceplates are engraved to order on an anodized blank. Both ship within 2 business days, as stated in the lead-time notice on the product page, in your cart, at checkout, and in your confirmation email.
“Business days” means Monday through Friday, excluding US federal holidays.
Custom artwork follows a different timeline: we send a proof within 1 business day of receiving your file, and the plate ships within 2 business days of your approval. One proof and one revision are included.
Custom artwork
Custom faceplates are made from artwork you upload. Every custom job is accepted, declined or canceled at the sole discretion of Waypoint Machine Works LLC.
What we will not produce. We will not engrave, and we do not tolerate attempts to order:
- trademarks, logos, brand names, team marks, or characters and other copyrighted work that you do not own or have written permission to use
- Valve, Steam or Steam Machine logos and marks, under any circumstances
- sexually explicit, pornographic or obscene material
- hateful, harassing, threatening or violent material, or material that targets a person or group
- material that promotes or depicts illegal activity
- another person’s name, likeness or personal information without their consent
- serial numbers, official seals, identification or certification marks, or anything made to imitate an official or regulated marking
- anything else that, in our judgment, we should not make
Your responsibility. By uploading artwork you confirm that you own it or have permission to use it, and that engraving it on a faceplate does not infringe anyone’s trademark, copyright, privacy or other rights. You agree to cover any claims, losses and costs that come to us because of artwork you supplied.
Our discretion. We review every file before it is engraved. We may decline or cancel any custom order, before or after it is placed, without giving a reason. If we decline or cancel, we refund the order in full. We may refuse future orders from anyone who submits prohibited material, and we report material that appears to be unlawful to the appropriate authorities.
Your artwork. You keep all rights to your artwork. You give us permission to reproduce it for your order and to keep a copy with our production records. We never show your artwork publicly without your permission.
Returns. Custom pieces are made for you alone, so they are not returnable for change of mind. They are fully covered for defects, and if the plate does not match the proof you approved, we fix it or refund it.
Shipping
Shipping within the United States is free and included in the price shown.
Risk of loss passes to you on delivery, not on dispatch. If a package is lost or damaged in transit, that is ours to resolve. See the Returns & refunds page.
We ship within the United States only at this time.
Warranty and limitations
We warrant that our work is free from defects in workmanship for one year from delivery. If a plate fails because of how we made it, we repair it, replace it, or refund it.
Not covered: normal wear, scratches from handling or installation, finish changes from cleaning products or solvents, damage from modifying the part, and damage from use other than as a faceplate.
Anodized color varies slightly between production batches. This is inherent to the process, not a defect. If you are matching a plate to one you already own, tell us before you order.
Our liability for any claim is limited to what you paid for the item. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, including damage to equipment the part was fitted to.
Nothing here limits any right you have under law that cannot be limited by agreement.

Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas. Any dispute goes to the state or federal courts in Denton County, Texas.
